Duolingo want to make learning a new language an interesting and fun again for 16 - 22 year olds and encourage them them to download their app.

THE INSIGHT:

Generation Z, are constantly under pressure to learn, study and take exams, so learning another language is not necessarily on the top of their list of things to do. This generation prefer to unwind on apps such as Instagram, Snapchat and Tik Tok that are interactive and engaging but not necessarily educational.

THE IDEA:

'Explore with Duo!' is a campaign that focused on combining lifestyle and gamification. The idea was to spur users to start learning languages through fun, educational challenges and games on their favourite apps such as Snapchat, Tik Tok and Instagram. The incentive is that users have an opportunity to win concert tickets, holiday packages and internships if they actively use Duolingo daily.
